We had to rush out of the hotel room at 7:40 this morning to catch our tour bus to the American Consulate in downtown Guangzhou. Our appointment was at 8:30, but with morning Guangzhou traffic we had to leave early to avoid being late. We made it on time and after a brief wait we went through security and along with 7 other families from our agency we swore an oath on behalf of our children that all of information we provided was correct and true in order for them to become U.S. citizens. Now once her visa is stamped in L.A. she will automatically become a citizen. Yay!
Once we receive her passport back tomorrow with the American visa we will be ready to head home. And let me tell you - WE ARE READY. While it has been nice to visit we are going a little stir crazy. Since Bill has been sick we've been reluctant to wander out too much. Last night we even had Papa John's pizza delivered to the hotel. It was delicious and hit the spot by the way. Vivian and I did stumble upon an outdoor play area in the hotel yesterday so we spent some time out there today before nap time, but she seemed to get bored pretty fast.
You aren't able to bring cameras into the consulate so we couldn't take any pictures there. Bill took a few outside, but it pretty much looked like a regular old Chinese office building. The consulate is on the 5th floor. So, sorry, no pictures today. I'm hoping to post one more time tomorrow before we leave, but we'll see how it goes. Another countdown begins - the countdown to head home!
